How To Make The Buns

  • Take a mixing bowl and add warm milk, yeast, and about a teaspoon of sugar. Let it rest for 5 minutes until the yeast dissolves, and you get a thick mixture. Add remaining sugar, egg, salt, and oil and stir the ingredients with a wooden spoon.
  • Now add the flour and salt mixture, one cup at a time, and keep stirring. Knead the dough. You can use dry flour if the dough is sticking. Keep kneading until you get a smooth and stretchy dough.
  • Make a ball of the dough and place it into a bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for 1 ½ hour.
  • When the dough has almost doubled its size, gently punch it down at the center.
  • Roll the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. You may also use a weighing scale to divide it equally.
  • Make a smooth ball of each portion and arrange the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Leave 2-3 inches of space between each ball.
  • Cover these balls loosely with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel for 30 minutes again.
  • Bake at 350 °F for 20-25 minutes, depending on the temperature of your oven. Take them out of the oven when a golden layer appears on the top.
